STATE CONVENTION JULY 2010

Webster City Community Theatre is hosting the state convention in Webster City on Saturday, July 17, 2010.  This is some initial information.  More will follow as details evolve.

Webster City Community Theatre invites you to Webster City for the Iowa Community Theatre Association State Convention on Saturday, July 17, 2010.  We are putting together an "All Er Nothin" slate of activities for the western-themed gathering.  It will start with an "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin" continental breakfast, followed by workshops on a variety of topics.  The "Farmers and the Cowmen" will come together over a chuck wagon lunch and the annual meeting at noon. 

Later it will be time to get into your dressier duds and drive that "Surrey with the Fringe on Top" to The Links Golf Club for the first ever ICTA Awards of Excellence Gala during the cocktail party-with heavy appetizers and an open bar.  The awards will be given in ten categories: 

Actress in a Leading Role

Actor in  Leading Role

Featuired Actress (Supporting)

Featured Actor (Supporting)

Use of Scenic Design

Use of Lighting

Use of Costuming/Design

Direction

Choreography

Ensemble

Convention attendees will be treated to a performance of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma!" on July 16 (on the eve of convention) or July 17.  "Many a New Day" will dawn after the pizza party wrap-up.
